How to break in leather oxfords

A new calf oxford should feel snug at the counter and easy across the toes. If the heel slips more than a finger width, try a half size down before you start the break in.
Wear them indoors for an hour on day one. On day two, take a short walk on a dry sidewalk. Thick socks and a cedar shoe tree overnight will pull moisture out and hold the shape.
Skip the hair dryer. Heat dries the leather and sets cracks. A thin coat of cream polish after the first week is enough to feed the surface.
If a spot still rubs, bring the pair to the East Brunswick counter. We can stretch the vamp or the heel gently while you wait.
